Registration
To Register to Begin School in Fall 2022...
Junior Kindergarten (Year 1) children must be four years old by Dec. 31, 2022
Senior Kindergarten (Year 2) children must be five years old by Dec. 31, 2022
Please note: If your child is currently attending Junior Kindergarten in the HDSB, you do not need to register for Senior Kindergarten.
Report Absense
The Halton District School Board is committed to providing timely, effective communication to parents/guardians and students.
In September 2018, the HDSB transitioned to a new Student Absence Reporting System called SchoolMessenger.
This is the system used for:
Reporting student absences
Receiving all messages and phone calls from your child's school and the HDSB
Families receive instructions on how to register for SchoolMessenger when they register for school.
All families must register for SchoolMessenger to report student absences online and set communication preferences for receiving messages from your child's school and the HDSB.

Optional Attendance
Resident Halton students, enrolled in kindergarten through graduation, attending regular or French Immersion programs at schools other than those designated for their place of residence, do so by way of optional attendance
Currently Central Public School is a CLOSED school for Optional Attendance.

Inclement Weather
During the winter months, inclement weather may cause the disruption of bus transportation and regular school operations.
Parents/guardians are reminded to review the inclement weather information below for the school year. In case of poor weather, the decision to close schools and/or cancel buses is communicated to parents beginning at 6:30 a.m.
It is always a parent’s decision whether to send their child to school on inclement weather days. Parents who keep their children at home when schools are open, MUST report this absence before the school day starts at:
