Dear Central Families,

On Friday December 16th all of our Kindergarten students participated in a wonderful celebration of their learning. Parents, staff and students enjoyed having our youngest students lead this learning by sharing their journey on Kindness and Belonging. What a wonderful slideshow that showcased what our Kindergarten students do to model kindness. I know that the songs tugged at a few of our heart strings but certainly made all of us proud of our Kindergarten students and their teaching team. Thank you to the Kindergarten staff for creating such a memorable assembly for all of us.

Once again this year we have received rave reviews about the holiday concert! It keeps getting better and better each and every year! Yesterday both of the holiday performances were a huge success. All the children in grades 1 to 5 did a fantastic job singing and bringing each scene of the play to life. The grade six students were absolutely amazing both on stage and behind the scenes. Again, a big thank you to all staff members for your support over the past month in preparing for yesterday’s performances. Thanks to everyone for a job well done.

We would like to thank everyone for their donations for our Bake Sale. There were many delicious treats for us all to enjoy. Thanks again! We do have some items left over so we will be selling these baked goods at the school on Friday during 2nd break. Bring your quarters and loonies and purchase some great baked goods.

The Grade 6 Leaders did an excellent job running the following events:

Food Drive: Thank you to all the families who donated to our food drive. We had over 500 items! Way to go Class 3-4 for collecting the most items.

Jelly Bean Contest: We raised $101 for the food bank!

Holiday Hat Day: Wear your holiday hat on Friday December 23rd.

Friday, December 23rd: Sing-a-long
Friday, December 23rd, 1:35pm: Early Dismissal
Monday, December 26th to Friday January 6th (inclusive): Winter Break

There will be no ordered lunches this week due to early dismissal.

On behalf of all our staff and School Council, I would like to extend to each and every one of you a happy, safe and wonderful Holiday Season. I look forward to working with you and your children in 2017!
